The hosting of next year's 50-over Cricket World Cup in India has become a question mark.
According to the Indian media, the ICC and the Indian government have not settled on tax matters, while the BCCI has indicated that it will not do anything in the tax matter.
Indian media say that if the tax exemption is not given, the ICC may take the World Cup out of India.
Media reports further state that the Indian government is not willing to exempt cricket income from tax.
Indian media say that in 2016 the T20 World Cup also did not get tax exemption due to which ICC deducted money from India's share.
It should be noted that the Fifty Over World Cup is scheduled in India in October 2023.
