Speaker Punjab Assembly refused to call a meeting for the vote of confidence on the direction of the governor

Despite being told to do so by Governor Balighur Rehman, Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Sabtain Khan declined to convene the Assembly yesterday.

For a vote of confidence in the chief minister, the governor of Punjab has called a meeting of the assembly for tomorrow.

Sabtain Khan, the speaker of the Punjab Assembly, has since resisted calling tomorrow's assembly meeting.

They claim that while the assembly session is in session, the governor cannot call for its cancellation. The speaker calls the current session, which cannot be changed.

He added that there are concerns about the constitutionality of the letter that Governor Punjab wrote.

It should be noted that yesterday, the opposition filed a motion of no-confidence against the chief minister of Punjab, Pervez Elahi, the speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Sabtain Khan, and the deputy speaker, Wasiq Qayyum.

On the other hand, Imran Khan, a former prime minister, declared on December 23 that the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly would be dissolved.
