Not decided to boycott the World Cup in India, PCB assures ICC

 


Lahore: No decision has been taken to boycott the World Cup scheduled in India next year, Ramiz Raja assured the ICC officials.


A foreign news agency says that during the visit of ICC Chief Executive Jeff Allardyce to Pakistan, Ramiz Raja made it clear to him that no decision has been taken to boycott, nor is he in favor of withdrawing from the mega event. In view of the refusal to participate in the Asia Cup, he spoke of a boycott to increase pressure on the Indian board.

According to sources, Rameez Raja also made it clear to the ICC officials that Pakistan will not accept the transfer of any tournament hosted by the country.

On the other hand, Prime Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Patron-in-Chief Shehbaz Sharif formed a 14-member committee to manage the affairs of the board, the notification of which has also been issued.
